Currently Sipping: Penner-Ash Viognier is all I could have asked for in a bottle this week. Seriously, it’s been warm here. This viognier is filled with stone fruits with a crisp finish. It’s quite thirst quenching and will be perfect to enjoy this spring and summer.
I’d like to say this was a productive week: I’ve gone through nearly 3,000 e-mails (and replied to about 400 of them), re-organized my closet (boxed up clothes I plan to donate), cooked dinner (three whole times) and between my husband and I, have driven about 1,040 miles taking my father to and from his doctor’s appointments at Stanford. I come from a long line of stubborn people, and my father is no exception. Instead of staying in the Bay Area with us, my father wanted to go home after each CyberKnife appointment. He lives more than 120 miles away from Stanford hospital. Did I mention he has a tumor that is negatively impacting his vision, as in when he gets tired, sometimes he has double vision?
I mean, I can’t really say a whole lot because it took me nearly three years to admit my vision had changed after my last concussion. It’s fun driving in a paint-by-number world. But still, we’re tired of driving his ass. Luckily as of Monday, he doesn’t need a chauffeur any more. I’m the only one in this family who actually needs one. Seriously, when I’m having a bad brain day, you don’t even want me backing out of the garage. I might accidentally run a squirrel or a small child over. Thank goodness for backup cameras that I don’t use.
